Turning Thorn into Energy: A Circular Green Economy

Every KA plant we uproot begins a new cycle of restoration. We convert them to sustainably sourced biomass for:

􀀀 Power plants
􀀀 Industrial biomass boilers
􀀀 Renewable energy producers

This creates a powerful cycle:

1 KA is cleared, opening elephant corridors
2 Cleared biomass is sustainably processed
3 Revenue is generated
4 Income flows back to community partners
5 Funds expand replanting and restoration
6 Indigenous forests begin to return
7 Human-elephant conflict is reduced

Innovating Coexistence: The Gliricidia Fence Programme

Gengreen introduced Gliricidia live fences around vulnerable boundaries and, these fences,

􀀀 Reduce elephant intrusion
􀀀 Strengthen natural barriers
􀀀 Provide year-round harvestable materials
􀀀 Offer families a sustainable, additional income source

We purchase Gliricidia fuelwood directly from local families at fair prices, removing middlemen and reducing uncertainty while supporting families when traditional crops fail.

This is not charity. This is community driven resilience in action. This programme,

􀀀 Provide steady, year-round income for village communities
􀀀 Strengthen their economic and social resilience
􀀀 Offer hope and stability even after crop losses
􀀀 Create a secure pathway for families to rebuild their livelihoods
